Skills
• Proven experience in configuration and change management within IT environments (ITIL-aligned)
• Practical experience with CMDB tools and SACM processes
• Experience in structured cabling environments (copper and fibre) and cable management/documentation tools (e.g. Patch Manager or equivalent)
• Good understanding of CIS infrastructure (networks, data centres, hardware assets)
• Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
• Ability to operate in controlled environments with formal change procedures
• Proficiency in English (NATO 3333)
• Prior CIS service delivery experience is an asset
Activities:
• Maintain and continuously update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring all CIS configuration items (hardware, software, and network components) and their relationships are accurate and compliant with Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) procedures
• Perform regular verification and audits of configuration data to ensure completeness, consistency, and alignment with NCIA standards
• Maintain and update cable plant and physical connectivity records in the Patch Manager tool, including: documenting end-to-end connectivity between network devices, patch panels, and endpoints, maintaining cable plant diagrams reflecting current installations and changes, recording hardware assets (e.g. racks, patch panels, network equipment) with unique identifiers, assigning and tracking port status (in use / available)
• Record all physical connectivity changes (moves, adds, changes) in Patch Manager in support of approved Work Orders (WOs) and Change Requests (CRQs), ensuring full traceability
• Create, process, and manage WOs, CRQs, and related activities within the NCIA IT Service Management system, including preparation of implementation and back-out plans
• Coordinate execution of approved changes, including scheduling, stakeholder communication, and validation of successful implementation, ensuring minimal service disruption
• Ensure all changes are properly documented and reflected in CMDB, Patch Manager, and associated configuration records
• Capture lessons learned from change activities and update technical documentation, including configuration baselines, network diagrams, procedures, and user guidance
• Contribute to and maintain the knowledge base to support knowledge sharing and continuous service improvement
• Provide recommendations for process improvement based on analysis of trends (e.g. recurring inconsistencies, delays, or change-related issues)
• Coordinate, where required, with the Cyber Security Section regarding security-related activities
